Terrific question, Brad. Before I give my answer, I have two quick anecdotes. 1. I'm the oldest in my family, so my dad inculcated me into TAGS before my younger brother got interested in it. We always watched it on TBS or occasionally WGN. For some reason, I hardly ever remember seeing any color episodes. I don't know if they were aired less than the BW episodes or if we just didn't pay as much attention or what. Anyway, my brother really started getting into TAGS about the time I left for college, not long after we got TV Land and they started airing TAGS. I didn't have the time or a TV at college to watch TAGS, but every break when I would come home it seemed like my brother had doubled his TAGS knowledge. He thus became familiar with all the color episodes long before I did, so he would ask me about some of them, and I would be completely lost, saying things like, "Are you sure that's an Andy Griffith episode!?" But I quickly caught up on summer breaks, thankfully. 2. The BW episodes are a different story. Like many of you, I've seen all of them far more times than I can count. However, there was one episode I somehow missed or never remembered. Any guesses? (I'll wait.) Okay, the answer is "Jailbreak" (from season 2). It was only a few years ago I saw it on TV Land and couldn't believe I had never seen it before. I laughed and laughed---it felt like they had made a whole new TAGS episode! Anyway, that's since become one of my favorite episodes. So all that roundabout storytelling just to set up my answer. I think I'd say "Opie Finds a Baby" hands down. It may be the only episode I've seen only (gasp) one time (although I must admit there could be another episode or two that I've only seen once---am I going to get kicked off the list for that?). --a deceitful wretch hiding out in Oxford, Ohio (the Nashville of the North) _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
