I got word through the Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce of squad car for sale, so
I thought I would let the Digest know about it. The description is noted below.
If you are interested, please contact Michael Cockrell in Winnsboro, SC at
[email protected] for more information. I've not met him, but he does have
a nice looking car and can email photos to anyone considering a purchase.
------
The car is a 1963 Ford Galaxie (a "plain" or 300 series Galaxie--instead of the
500 or 500 XL models, which have too much trim for a police car), with four
doors and automatic transmission. It has authentic paint, accurate door decals,
a working siren and working red light, spotlight, and a whip antenna--all
authentic. It also has a 1963 North Carolina "JL-327" license plate. Has a new
interior and excellent tires, and it runs well. The heater works, but the
gauges don't. The car has always been kept in a garage. It looks so good that
it's often mistaken for the car actually used on TAGS. I have over $14,000.00
invested; asking $9,500.00.
------
I'll also mention the Mayberry Squad Car Nationals is July 11th in Graysville,
AL. It's a fun day all around!
Thanks and Happy Motoring,
Jeff
