A few years ago, someone on eBay offered what they claimed was the original pistol that Don Knotts used on TAGS, and I'm pretty sure it was a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber. Seems likes somebody paid about $8,000 for it. Of course, there is a lot of fraud on eBay and similar sites; people are always offering some old dish or something and stating it was used on The Show in Aunt Bee's kitchen or The Bluebird Diner or wherever, and what's more, they have a piece of paper to prove it! When you ask them exactly which scene of which episode the item appears in, they never seem to have that information, but they're sure proud of that piece of paper.
