I was at my weekly bible study last week and our pastor brought up the topic
of how many times Jesus used the words "I tell you the truth" when he wanted
to make an important point. I have noticed that Andy uses those exact words
very often when he is making a point. I don't want to start a religious
discussion here, but I am just wondering if perhaps Allan or Paul or someone
else who has insight into the writers of TAGS if this was done intentionally
as a way to inject a biblical reference in the story or if it is a common
phrase in the south or just a coincidence. I have gone back and listened
just for that phrase while watching the older episodes and Andy does use "I
tell you the truth" quite frequently.
