Seeing the reference to The Waltons the other day, I remembered that I always
thought Jason Walton (played by Jon Walmsley) was a dead ringer for Ron
Howard's brother--at least that's what I thought when I saw the show back in
the 1970's. I thought of Jason as being Opie's "older" brother, but in fact
Jon is about four years younger than Ron--guess I was used to seeing Ron in the
60's and Jason in the 70's. I haven't seen any recent pictures of Jason, but
did anybody else out there see a resemblence between Jason and Opie?
Speaking of Ron, do any of you remember the series "The Smith Family", starring
Henry Fonda as a detective and Ron Howard as his son? It only aired for one or
two seasons in the early 1970's a few years before Happy Days. It was a 30
minute show, something of a comedy-drama mix. Can't believe it didn't last
longer with star power like that. I would love to see some of those episodes
again, does anybody know if any are in existence on VHS or DVD?
