The dvd set of season two of TAGS arrived today plus some extras on other
episodes. Many thanks and Thanks Bob for the book on Doo Wop. But sadly when
i make a boo boo i admit it. Vic I saw Medicine Man moments ago off one of
the discs and i looked for our friend, Man of Mystery who we saw from other
episodes like the man looking at Andy's check in the courthouse. Well Vic I
played the scene in Medicone Man and in the crowd with AuntBee was not HIM
but Danny Thomas brother, with the hat on directly by Aunt Bee. A moment
later Barney and Andy pull up to question the Col. while he's selling his
elixir now to two older men but neither i repeat neither is the MAN OF
MYSTERY. We goofed on this one. ill go back to the drawing boards with my
first dvd set of TAGS and try to hunt down more sightings of our MAN of
Mystery but Im sure now he was only in color episodes. lastly I noticed on
on the dvds you sent, the first i ever saw of TAGS ever on dvd, that the
music for opening and ending credits is slightly different. it has a more
homey touch and slower tempo more in tune with the laid back lifestyle of
our beloved Mayberry. All these years Ive seen TAGS on televsion, i see now
it must had been like other tv series, the syndicated version of repackaged
music credits. Such is the case of the classic 39 of the Honeymooners. I see
on dvd the credits and music is slightly different than the packlage that
was later released for syndications. im very impressed now to see at last
the real original MUSICAL SCORE for the TAGS. Now Ill check Aunt Bee the
Warden for that classic musical piece as Otis climbs down the ladder.I never
heard this brilliant piece of music ever used again in any other episode.
"Get to it." Tom Kessel, Col.Tim's protege reject God bless you all.
