>>>This is the episode where Gomer tries to help a family find a place to stay the night, and he ends up housing them in a shack in the Marine Target Range.
...and you may recall near the end of that episode, the Model AA truck gets blown up! I imagine they had two on the lot which is why it seemed to survive another day to be the Darling family truck on season 7 of "The Andy Griffith Show." Dixon<<<< Dixon, you may be right, but after a closer watch..I'm not sure the truck was really destroyed. They had a nice fireball coming out of the bed..and it looked pretty nasty from a distance, but that may have been all special effects. If Opie can clean up a mashed penny...maybe the stage crew could restore a somewhat blackened truck for the Darlings...makes you think.... I know the chassis was still on four wheels when Gomer went over to grab the suspenders. As for the Mail slot discussion... I would presume there were a few times they had to lock up, even though it was a "public building" Overall the mail slot is just one of those inconsistencies we love to spot. Tom K, You are quite the man for admitting the mistake on that background actor. I had said early on that he was just in color, but I deferred to your expertise and the other gentleman working with you. IF I admitted/corrected all my mistakes in here..there wouldn't but much room for new stuff ;). We'll watch for your guy, and maybe someday create a webpage for him like we did for Tom Jacobs and Nice Dress Nellie. We need a Digest name for him,,like Nice Dress Nellie and Horn-rimmed Harry ( a B&W mystery guy) any thoughts?? Check-Looker Chuck?? Siggy??
