Andrew, one reference about Andy having been in Paris while in service is in A FEUD IS A FUED in the first season. He said it while he was trying to get Mr. Wakefield and Mr. Carter to shoot at each other, I believe. There may have been another reference to it in anothe episode, I am not sure.
Mayberry is a small town but it must be a good place for doctors or they can't make a living there. Has anyone besides me, noticed how doctors they talk about? We don't see very many but, they sure do talk about them a lot. For instance, they have two Dr. Burnsides. Mrs. Sprague says that Dr. Burnside is as near as the phone when Howard dates Irene Fairchild. Then Opie refers to a dentist by the same name when Andy buys the laundramat, as having said he would need someone to take his practice when he retired. How many doctor names can you remember from Mayberry seen or not seen?
