I enjoy the episodes when Andy and Barn (and Aunt Bee once) are hanging out at
the City Dump.
The bent old car parts (Old Buzzy Leonard's, I believe), the "Playboy"-type mag
(BARNEY!! ... although Andy certainly enjoyed a good look or two at the female
form) and the all-around messy look. Reminds me of a small town.
I also admire the realistic personal touches -- Andy and the girlie mag, Andy
ordering a beer and occasionally enjoying a bit of gossip or Andy, Barn and Bee
eager to read the second edition of "The Mayberry Sun." This helps make them
rounded characters, not fake, holier-than-thou plaster saints.
The realism aids the humor.
