I too am a great fan of Mayor Pike. His rolly polly physique and great
personality make him a very lovable character. And he is so good to his
daughter all the time. I always thought he and Aunt Bee would have made a
great match. Much better than she and Fred Goss. But then Mayor Pike had a
wife as we well know from when Andy talked about her singing without knowing
the mayor was underneath the hot towel in the barber chair. Why is it all
the great guys are always taken?
