I wrote about my class reunion a few days ago. I had so many people to talk to that I forgot to talk to one lady about a possible connection to our favorite show. I seemed to remember from elementary school that this girl's uncle, an actor, once came to our school. His name was Alvy Moore who played as a regular Hank Kimball on Green Acres. He also made an appearance on TAGS as a salesman in the Episode where Aunt Bee Babysits for Evie Joy.
As I got older, the memory kind of faded, and the conflict came into my mind that she spelled her name Mohr, and he spelled his Moore. I thought maybe I had just dreamed it or been duped by a friend or a rumor. One of the things we did before the event was exchange basic info, so I had her email address and wrote her with the question after the fact. Here is her answer with a neat bit of family trivia. "Hello Joe. Yes, my uncle was Alvy Moore. He was married to my dad's sister, Carolyn. Of course her maiden name was Mohr, so she kept her same name, just spelled differently (when she married Alvy Moore). He died May of 1995. He was on Green Acres. His daughter works on Foley work for movies. That means she does the background noise. (walking, opening a door, etc.) She actually has won an Emmy for her work. I went out to Calif. last June to visit her and my aunt (Alvy's widow). Ten days after I got home, my aunt died " So there you have it. Alvy Moore trivia..his Indiana connection and successful daughter.
