David, you're actually correct with your facts...but I'm going to jaw with you a little on your speculation. Thelma Lou actually had Gomer drive her to the Dentist in Mt. Pilot..so I don't think she worked for A Dentist in Mayberry. When we saw Doctor's offices in Mayberry, they generally just had a nurse, if any employee besides the Doctor. I think she worked at a small Insurance office, or Utility Office..such a Mayberry Water and Power..or Electric.
