Hey, Mayberry friends. This morning I spent some time with my mother-in-law, and she's a wonderful person,(bless her heart.) She makes the best pickles you've ever put in your mouth. She starts with a gallon of whole Mt. Olive pickles (made here in NC), slices them herself (them store bought slicers cut 'em too thin), adds her own recipe of spices and sugar and simmers them on the stove for a while. When done, there's not a pickle in heaven that can hold a candle to hers. I hope she'll enter them in the county fair next year. I just thought I'd share this because I'm a pickle person, along with being a watermelon person, (salt and all).
