I am reading an English mystery that took place in the early 19th century,
It mentions a family of boys named Pyle. At first I thought they might be
Gomer's ancestors until I read a bit further. Apparently the young Pyle
boys loved to play in an old crypt beneath an ancient church. The crypt was
filled with old coffins and skeletons. I decided these Pyle's must be a
different strain of Pyle's other than Gomer's family. I doubt very much if
any of those brave boys would have begat Gomer who was afraid to even crawl
under an old bandstand because of a few spiders.
