Great post on "Return to Mayberry" Dixon. My favorite part of the entire movie was Andy's closing speech at Barney's and Thelma Lou's wedding. He said, "There's something about Mayberry and Mayberry folk that never leaves you. No matter where life takes you, you always carry in your heart the memories of old times and old friends." I use that quote on my closing slide in my "What's Your Hurry?" Mayberry presentations I do. I close by reading it to my audience, and then I have them read it again but I have them insert the name of their town instead of saying Mayberry. It is a very effective closing especially when I am speaking to senior groups in small towns. It has even brought a few tears to some eyes.
Hope to join everyone for the New Year's Day gathering if I am not totally spent from watching the Wisconsin Badgers in the Rose Bowl Game. Go Bucky. Kenneth G.
