Has the subject ever been brought up as to what folks might think Mayberry
would be like today...During the holday season I had opportunities to drive
trhough several of the towns I grew up near as a kid...Only one of those towns
has shown significant growth in the last 50 years. A couple have become near
ghost towns..nothing much left but a few houses on a hillside along the
highway...I wonder what Mayberry would be like today...We know not very many
people moved to Mayberry but we also know a lot of people left...Makes you
wonder..would Mayberry be much larger today..more populated..more factories and
businesses. would their be a couple of big box stores...what about the
businesses that were there..Martinelli's, Walkers Drug Store..The Barber
shop..Foleys..Diamod Jims..Would Goobers Gas Station be a huge truck stop
now or would it be just a memory and a shadow of the past.want to share some
ideas of what you think Mayberry would be like today. Lets
put on our thinking bucket and give it a good "Thank"..Since this is my idea
I'll let some of you folks share your thought first..
