Not only did early radio and t.v. have an influence on TAGS, some of TAGS's
stars appeared quite a bit on these shows.
Last night, I was watching an episode of the Jack Benny Show ("Don Wilson's
27'th Anniversary"), and who should I see but Howard McNear playing a Mr.
Willoughby, president of the Universal Corset Company. It was sure a great
performance! He said that he was in a bit of a "pinch," and then became
hysterical in laughing at the joke he made.
I'm re-discovering Jack Benny and am amazed at how wonderful the show is...
Here's a link to that episode

(the video of the episode)
Also Fibber McGee and Molly stands the test of time in its brilliance...just
found another website with quite a few of their episodes.
(Throckmorton Philharmonic Gildersleeve ("The Great Gildersleeve" mentioned in
Allan's latest '2 Chairs No Waiting' episode) "sprung off" of their show).
Over and Under,
Clyde "Barn"
