I have always marveled at all the sets that must have been used when filming TAGS. Just the homes and businesses alone; the courthouse, barber shop, diner, Wally's, Taylor home, bank, school, Foley's, beauty parlor, hardware store, hotel, Frank Myers, drug store, Fred Goss Cleaners, church, Mrs. Mendlebright's, Thelma Lou's, Helen Crump's, and many many others. Then there were all the houses and farms in the country and all the places in Mt. Pilot and Raleigh that were shot. Does anyone know the logistics of this was handled? Were all these sets in one large building or were the sets used and then moved and reassembled, etc? It would be great if Allan could do a podcast talking about this. As I said this has always really amazed me. So many shows are centered on one set week after week. But for eight years the people at TAGS managed to show us so much of Mayberry in so much detail. It was such a skillful way of getting us to really feel we were a part of Mayberry and a part of everyone's lives when we were actually invited into their homes and places of business in such detail. I would certainly love to hear any thoughts on this. Not sure if we every talked about it before.
