Didn't the term "jump the shark" start with a Happy Days episode?  Jump the 
Shark refers to a show where Fonzie is water skiing and jumps over a shark.   
The term got started from that show and now refers to any show that starts 
declining after awhile.  When the writers run out of material and start writing 
unbelievable scripts or something that does not fit in.  I think of Aunt Bee 
flying a plane.  She certainly couldn't drive a car, as Goober well knows.
 I think it's a funny term.  It makes me laugh every time I hear it.<< Hmmm... 
seems to me that Meyer's lake started to become infested with fresh water 
sharks after Barney left Mayberry.
