Hey, Mayberry friends. The digest has really been buzzing lately and I enjoy
reading every message, it's just too much fun.

We've been talking pickles lately so I'm repeating this post I made about a
year ago for all the new folks who may not have read it. Like Goober said,
"I'll do it!"

My mother-in-law makes the best pickles you ever put in your mouth. She takes a
jar of whole Mt. Olive pickles (made here in good old NC), slices them herself
(them store bought slicers cut 'em too thin), simmers them for a while in a
spice recipe known only to her with a slight helping of garlic and when they're
done they are gooood pickles. Not a hint of kerosene.

I once had a neighbor that owned an old Rambler station wagon with an automatic
transmission that operated by push buttons on the dash. It's the only one I've
ever seen like that so it must not have been very common. Us teenage boys loved
to take it on fishing trips but it wasn't too great for picking up girls.

The digest allows us to visit Mayberry every day and I love it!
