In the episode where Briscoe Darling "declares for Aunt Bee",I discovered he is
quite the wordsmith.
When he describes the advantages of her becoming the future Mrs. Darling,he
uses the word
"appointments" as opposed to advantages or ammenities.
Today,several major automobile companies use the word "appointments" in
describing the reason(s)
in purchasing their upscale vehicle(s).All in all,I would say 'ol Briscoe was a
diamond in the rough.
I still don't think he can get banjo & guitar sounds from his jug...but,like
he said,every man
is entitled to his own opinion.
