Veteran character actor Sid Melton has died. He was 91. Sid appeared in two episodes of TAGS as 'Mr. Michaels' in the 6th season, "Taylors in Hollywood" and "The Hollywood Party." And he was in several episodes of USMC as conman 'Friendly Freddy.'
His most well-known roles were on THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW as nightclub owner 'Charley Halper', and of course the inept carpenter 'Alf Monroe' on GREEN ACRES. He also had a recurring role on THE GOLDEN GIRLS as the voice of 'Salvadore Petrillo.' A very funny man, and a very nice man. Rest in peace.
