I will shortly be finishing my fourth year working as a Professional
Consumer Multiple Purchases Packaging Specialist at one of the large
supermarkets here in Eau Claire. One of the things I enjoy the most about
this great part-time job is that I get to work with a lot of high school
and college students. But one thing I have definitely noticed during those
four years is that our young people just don't know how to slow down. The
cashiers I work with have just one speed and that is fast. It is just
speed, speed, speed. I have talked to several of them about slowing down
once in a while but they say they don't know how to slow down. I think
this is because the young people today have grown up in such a speed
oriented society and they have never experienced the slow pace of Mayberry.
Everything in their lives is based on speed. 4G this and 4G that. High
speed internet, and now there is even speed dating. I can tell you one
thing, there was never speed dating when I was young. Sometimes it took me
months, or even years to get a date. Most of the kids I work with even
talk and walk very fast. We have one young gal named Rose. One day I
walked up and stood beside her and started sniffing. She asked me what I
was doing. I told her that I was just taking the time to smell the roses.
 That one cracked her up.

By the way there are a number of supposedly original set items from TAGS
that are on auction on EBay. There is an ash tray, and orange juice glass
used by Opie, some dishes from Aunt Bea, and other items. Very pricey, but
there is a disclaimer saying they are authentic items from the Andy
Griffith Show set.
