Your question about engraving reminds me of a cute riddle we told when we were
young. A man goes to a hardware store to purchase some items. He goes to
the items he wishes to purchase and asks the clerk how much they cost. The
clerk says "One cost 50 cents, 98 cost a dollar, and 877 cost a dollar and a
half". Can anyone guess what the man was purchasing?
