Hey, Mayberry friends. I read Danny's post about his visit to Mt. Airy and have to add my measley 3 cents worth. My wife and I and our grandkids, (Mayberry citizens in the making), were there last Thursday and had a big time. First stop was the Andy Griffith Museum. I've been there several times before but I always seem to find something new that I haven't seen before. Had a nice visit with Mr. Emmett Forrest (such a nice man, a real prince). Next stop was Opie's Candy Store to fill up a bag of goodies. Visited most of the shops up and down Main Street and went by Wally's Filling Station and also rode out to the granite quarry. We topped it off with lunch at the Snappy Lunch. I had the pork chop sandwich 'all the way'.
One more thing. We left early that morning, the temperature was in the 30's so I started the car to let it warm up. When we came out to leave, my grandson (eight years old) says "I smell gas". What else could I say, "Of course you smell gas, what do you think this car runs on, coal?" Thanks to Allan for the 2012 calender. Great stuff. Larry in Lincolnton Wishing all my digest friends a safe and prosperous new year. _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
