We had just a wonderful time yesterday. I returned to my home area where I
gave two Mayberry Presentations. One for a group of retired teachers and
the other at one of the town's public library. Both were very well
attended and very special. I met a number of people from my growing up
days including one of my former high school teachers. We found out my wife
sits right next to her daughter at her job. In the evening presentation a
number of my family attended as well as a high school girl who I was sweet
on. I reminded her how we went to a movie once at the theater that
recently burned down. Then she reminded me that shortly after that she
went to a convent for two years. Not sure if there was a connection; I was
afraid to ask. I was asked by three different people to bring my squad car
back home this summer to participate in four different parades. I doubt if
I will make all four, but I sure hope to make several. I was also asked to
visit the library back in my hometown so I could see the building project
that my Mayberry donations are helping with. It was a very impressive
addition. It was so beautiful that when I showed the click
with Malcolm Tucker singing "Church in the Wildwood" the morning group
started singing along out loud.

A bit of side humor. We were meeting a couple from high school to go out
and eat between presentations. So I had my uniform on. The town where I
grew up is currently having a lot of major issues with illegal immigrants
from our southern neighboring country as there is a large meat packing
plant there. I stopped at a house to ask where my friend lived and when
the person opened the door it was a Mexican woman. She took one look at my
uniform and started a long and loud lingo in Spanish. Pretty soon a man
came to the door and I asked him where my friend's lived. They finally
understood what I wanted, but from the expressions on their faces I think
they probably thought I might have been from the immigration department.
Sure hope that wasn't a classic case of falsifying.
