Several people have emailed me asking if I get paid for doing parades and presentations. I do ask for a nominal $50 for my presentations and I then donate that to my hometown library. As far as parades and car shows, I do not get paid nor would I expect any. I do it as a hobby and as a way of sharing the spirit of Mayberry. We will be doing 12 parades this summer along with about 20 or so car shows. I pay all my own expenses for the Mayberry badge stickers I hand out, my citation booklets I have printed and bound, and all other expenses. I just bought a great old woman mask so my wife is going to make a female moonshine prisoner to sit in the back seat along with my male moonshiner.
