Interesting question David. My late beloved and I thought alike politically
so no challenge in our household. However, my mama was a bleeding-heart
democrat and Daddy was a staunch Republican. He went so far as to drive her
to the polls (she never learned how), knowing her vote cancelled his out,
but I don't believe he could've ever voted her into office. He felt as I do
that you must vote your conscience not your emotions. I feel Andy would've
continued to support Howard but if Aunt Bee had gotten elected, he would've
helped her all he could once she faced the predicaments she would have, in
view of her lack of experience in politics. I believe that effort would've
mended fences and brought them back together as they weren't actually
political opposites in the first place. IMHO!
