I just finished watching the episode where Barney receives the chain letter. I haven't seen that for quite a while so I kind of forgot about the scene at the dump where Andy and Barney are discussing the girlie magazine that Barney subscribes to. It is very obvious that Andy is enjoying looking at the centerfold as he shows it to Barney several times. I have always wondered why the writers felt that scene should be a part of the episode. It seems so totally unnecessary for the great story line they had going and it was so totally out of character for Andy and Barney and it is a far cry from Barney's 25 cent "Learn a Month" magazine. I know in one of the very first episodes Andy mentioned that he had to quit getting a magazine because there were girlie pictures in it and Barney had never been married. Any thoughts or observations that anyone would care to share?
