What a wonderful weekend!! Many old friends and some new ones along the
way as well!!
And the parade....God's tears shed upon us in remembrance of Andy were so
much more meaningful and no one was mad over a little rain!
The Trivia contest...WOW!! What tough questions this time! I thought last
year was tough but try telling us what the licence tag number was on the bus
taking the Taylor's to the airport for their flight to Hawaii if you can!!
One contestant did!! Congrats to Pat Bullins for getting 18 of 20 correct
for another championship!
And what can I say about the tribute to Andy Sunday morning....
The Moravian church band gave us 4 of Andy's favorites, then Vessels of
Clay sang some for us, Betty Lynn gave a very touching talk about Andy then a
recorded message was played from "Opie" and a message from Rance Howard was
read.
Robbie Britt gave us some very moving songs in his wonderful baritone
voice, and we were all led in singing Will The Circle Be Unbroken.
During Col. Tim's George Spence read his meaningful thoughts on Andy and
what it meant to have known him and worked with and for him over the many
years together. And to listen to George in his deep voice with perfect
diction is a lesson in itself! Thank you George!
After the service in the Amphitheater I told something to Maggie Peterson
Mancuso, "Charlene" I think we all would do good to hear.."Sorrow will pass
in time, but the happiness Andy brought will live forever."
