I'd like to think, that like the show, Mayberry would be untouched in 2012. The trucks would still need an extra 5 to get over Turner's grade, the diner would still have a businessman's special, and a stressed out guy could still go down to the theater and watch them change the marquee. There still might be a broken down band stand, but there would always be "Standing on the Promises" coming from All Souls Church. Pop would still be a dime at Wally's, and the firemen would still have a fish boil. Front porch sitting would be an after supper routine and the only crime would be when Earnest T, the Darlings, and Jim Lindsay "disturbed the peace."
