Other scenes in TAGS in which the image is backwards: Part of the scene in Runaway Kid, when Andy is talking with Tex while Opie is busy making sandwiches
In Divorce, Mountain Style, when Barney rides in the direction Andy calls "north to south." In The Perfect Female, the second crow that Andy shoots at is a mirror image of the first. This last one was obviously deliberate; all the others were probably accidental. Sometimes a scene is flipped on purpose; they did it all the time on Star Trek to make to sets (built on a very tight budget) look twice as big. At other times, it is necessary because scenes were switched in editing. For example, suppose there were scenes where we see a character at point A, then we see him walking down the sidewalk, and then we see him again at point B. If for some reason the first and third shots had to be switched when the film was edited, then the scene of the character walking down the sidewalk would have to be flipped over, so it would appear as if the character were going from B to A.
