I realize there were numerous songs recorded.......Dewey lamb

There could be several reasons for the lack of words...first whatever Opie and
his band played weren't even identifiable so the music
was probably written by Earle hagen. Secondly, there were severe copyright
laws back in the 60's that would have prevented songs to
be sung without permission from the originator and payments for the same.
Most of what was sung was out of copyright or very little had to be paid to use
the songs. The only popular song used which was still
being heard on the radio, was "The Midnight Special" recorded earlier and a
Top 20 hit for Paul Evans.
Then of course Dewey your idea of paying the singers extra has legs too. They
would have had to memorize the music and words or be
able to lip-sync it.....So unless someone else has better thoughts these come
to mind

There was a question on Facebook concerning number of "Reality" shows on tv. Of
course shows such as "Ice Road Truckers," are shot
partially in a studio environment. The Pawn shows are scripted as is "Wife
Swap"..and the Repo shows although they actually make repossessions
earlier, they use actors to re-create the repossession for the sake of
television...But along with the question of "Reality" shows was this.

If someone in Mayberry were to make a "Reality" show who would it be and what
kind of show would they do....?
