I checked out a book at the library today called Illegal Tender by Gerald
Hammond. It takes place in the Scottish Highland region of Fife. I bet it
is about this stupid sheriff who has a really stupid deputy who is only
given one arrow and he must keep it in his quiver. I bet the story involves
stealing young sheep, thus the title "Illegal Tender". I am also guessing
that the sheriff and his stupid deputy only have one horse to share, so the
deputy goes to an auction at a crofter and buys a mule with a side saddle
so he can cover the main trails. I can hardly wait to start reading it. I
have to finish the book I am currently reading. I found it in a dresser of
ours all covered with dust. I think it is the biography about a girl. The
opening part is a murder mystery where a brother kills his brother. Then
there is a big flood so this family is getting ready to build a boat to
escape. The book is really old so I can't quite make out the name of the
cover, but I think the girl's name is Holly Bibble. It is great big thick
book so it will take me a while to read it.
