I teach a class of eighth graders a course called MAYBERRY FAMILY VALUES. We watch two related TAGS episodes and then discuss. (Example, we'll watch The Pickle Story and Barney and Chior and then discuss how much trouble you can get in with lying - even when you are doing it to spare someone's feelings.)
The kids eventually love the class, but it usually takes four or five episodes before they can really get into it. This is because TAGS is so character-based and it takes a few viewings to know the characters. So I'd like some help from fellow TAGS experts. What episode can I show as a first experience to help future classes hit the road running? In other words, what single episode does the best job introducing the characters and helping first-timers grasp the spirit of Mayberry?
