Thanks to all of you who have answered my questions.I haven't been talking to a bunch of jerks. I just watched Allen Newsomes' Pod Cast where he talked about African Americans and extras on TAGS.It is interesting to watch them show up whenever Andy and Barney go about their business in Mayberry. It makes one wonder if any of them has a job because they are always on the street. These extras never had speaking parts but I remember two instances when they spoke.In barney Gets His Man,Barney knocks Eddy Brooke and holds him until the State Police show up. Andy runs up and asks "whats happening? The trooper says"He just caught Eddy Brooke an escaped convict doing 20 years.The black lady in the front row echos "twenty years.Then in Goober Take A Car Apart,Tom Jacob asks Andy "How did they do it Andy? And whats up with Tom.Is he the Cary Grant of Mayberry?Whenever we see him leaving church,at a restaurant,or at a Mayberry function he's with a different lady.As Opie would say "What a man".
