When I was a sophomore in high school, I had a show pig I named Thelma Lou. I was only casually familiar with the show back then and probably could not have identified OUR Thelma Lou in a police lineup, but I thought the name was so hickish--a far cry (little did I realize) from the very lady-like Thelma Lou as portrayed by Betty Lynn.
