Hello All
I have enjoyed the discussion of gloves very much. I remember wearing
gloves. I loved them, but usually lost one about once a week. I wear
gloves now when I do historical reenactments. I have dress gloves, half
gloves, lace gloves, and regular gloves. I wear half gloves a lot to keep
my hands warm, since I now have arthritis in my hands. My mother wore
gloves and so did all my aunts and grandmother. My mother passed on two
years ago. I found her glove box in which she had many pairs of gloves of
all styles. She also had many handkerchiefs. The surprise that I found
was not only that she could tat and crochet, which I had only seen her knit
and crochet that went with knitting sweaters and the like. but, she also
had some of my gloves. Just to think my hands were so very small, then. I
love seeing the women on Andy wear gloves and carry hankies. It takes me
back to a sweet time.
Muffs - Mama and me both had muffs. I loved them because they kept your
hands very warm. I have a muff now I wear on cold days with my wool cape,
not just for reenactments either. But, can't say I have seen muffs on
Andy.
