Regarding natural disasters in Mayberry, the first one that comes to mind is Barney and his motorcicle. Now I realize that it might not count as a bonifide "natural" disaster, but it certainly was a disaster.
The other one that comes to mind was mentioned in season 7's episode "Goober's Contest". When Goober was explaining to Andy that he made a mistake with the prize money for his contest and that there was no $200 prize and he asked Andy how Floyd would take it when he told him. Andy replied, "Well, do you remember that tornado that hit town about 12 years ago?".
