I love to tell my story of walking past Allan Melvin in an airport. Since
he was so familiar, but not mentally assigned a particular character in my
mind, I thought, at first, that he was a personal friend that I needed to be
sure to speak to - and comment about the coincidence of running into each
other. Took me just a second to realize who he was and that I didn't
actually know him. I did not speak to him, deciding he might value his
privacy. Now I wish I had told him how much pleasure he had given me during
his long and varied career.
