With all this talk about my cars, I thunk I would share a "true story"
about the most memorable car I ever owned.

It was a 1949 Desota convertible. I paid $40 for it in 1965. I drove it
for a very short time because it kept breaking down on me. One day my best
friend and I were taking it to a lake to go swimming. It broke down and we
had to leave it along side a highway while we tried to figure out how to
get it home. I received a call from the police saying it had to be rmoved
from the side of the road immediately. So we walked back to the car and
the two of us pushed it off the the highway onto an old dirt road. We went
back home and shortly thereafter we received another call from the police.
This time we took another car and pushed it home. I parked it behind the
house and bought a different bargain. One day I went out to the car and
discovered my brother had painted "The Blue Boob" in big letters on the
front bumper.

I ended up selling the car for $10.

Last summer while doing a parade back in my hometown someone yelled out to
me. "That isn't the Blue Boob." Turns out it was the guy I had sold the
car to back in 1965.

Several months ago I was shopping at our mall when the sales person and I
got to talking. It turned out his father in law was the guy who bought the
"Blue Boob" from me. Turned out too that the salesman lives just around
the corner from us.

Small world.
