Actor Jack Prince appeared in six episodes, but he played Ben Sewell and Luke Reiner/Grainer before he played Rafe Hollister. Therefore, Rafe is not a correct answer, since Rafe is only in three episodes (or four if you count the one with the rummage sale, but his character is not called Rafe by name then).
It gets more complicated for actors like Amzie Strickland and Mary Lansing. They appeared in many, many episodes, but not as the same CHARACTER. Mary Lansing played something like a dozen different women before finally landing the permanent role of Martha Clark in season eight. So those do not count as major characters either. Joe Hamilton played the two-faced cheatin' liar Chester Jones in Andy Saves Barney's Morale, but later he played other town loafers, such as Choney. I don't think the character of Chester Jones appears in five episodes, but I could be wrong. Anyway, all of these answers are correct: Andy Barney Opie Aunt Bee Mayor Pike Otis Goober Ernest T. Jud Clara Helen ...and there's at least one more that hasn't been named yet. Speaking of Helen, what in the world did she think she would accomplish by locking herself in a cell? Did she really think Warren would be unable to get the door open? And after he went back to sleep, why didn't she let herself out? The key was right there the whole time, but she just stood there for who-knows-how-long, not once but TWICE, waiting for Andy to rescue her. Seems to me she should've been a lot smarter than that.
