Another example of bad parenting of Opie. When Aunt Bee was kidnapped by
Briscoe Darling, Opie told Andy about it at the courthouse. Andy told Opie
to go stay with the lady next door. Andy then left and went out to the
country for an extended stay without even bothering to see if the woman was at
home or if Opie had even arrived at the designated place. What would Opie
have done if the neighbor happened to be in Mt. Pilot at the doctor?
