Has anyone else noticed that when Opie shows his excitement about something, like showing his Pa his report card or getting a reward of some kind, he always licks his lips. I was always curious as to whether that was his own personal acting technique for expressing excitement or if the director instructed him to do that. It is distracting to me when I see it because it doesn't seem natural somehow.
