That was a very good, and a very thoughtful post Ken about living in America.
Your post reminded me of a story about a man back in the 30's sitting on a
train platform watching all the trains come in. One train stopped and a man got
off onto the platform and asked the citizen sitting there "What sort of town is
this"? The local resident then said "Well what kind of town do you live in"?
The stranger then replied "It is terrible, all the people gossip all the time,
no one likes anyone else, it is just terrible". The local then said "This town
is just like that". So the man re-boarded the train. In about an hour another
train came in and another stranger got off. This stranger also asked the local
the exact same question, and the local once again said "Well describe the town
you live in now". The stranger said "It is the most wonderful town you could
ever hope to live in, all the people get along and care for each other". To
which the local said "This town is just like that".
