I don't recall this question every being asked before. Barney said he had a column in the high school newspaper called "Pickup and Splashes from Floor and Pool" by Barney Fife.
I find it very unusual that the small town of Mayberry would have a school swimming pool in the pre WW2 days. Up here in Wisconsin none of the schools anywhere in our area had swimming pools until well into the 1970's with most small schools still not having a pool today. Any thoughts or comments.
