That quip about early federal funding for the pool was priceless so to
whomever gave me that chuckle - thanks muchly! Now, I was raised in
southern Calif and the high schools there had pools in the 50s so I
didn't find that mention quite so unusual, but can you imagine skinny
little Barn in swimming trunks?! I had an alumni sighting this
morning; our Mr. Foster, THE Mr. Foster of furniture polish fame was in
a beautiful film about Jim Bowie, played by Alan Ladd. I recognized his
voice before I spotted him.
