The main thing I don't miss from the old days, along with many others I
guess, is the lack of AC. My high school outside of Memphis was
especially brutal. I would miss microwaves and DVRs too as well as
cellphones and computers and I'm an old lady who is not really
technologically in the loop but I value them highly. I once made hoot
owl pie from the Aunt Bee cookbook and it was goooooood! Since I've
never seen Mayberry RFD I hadn't seen the facade of the house there but
I sure do love it on the Walton's; my beloved and I once went to
Virginia to the Hamner family region (Walton inspiration) and it was fun
to go into a replica of their home. While in the area, we encountered
two unexpected pleasures: Monticello and the Natural Bridge; I bet
Barney went to them at one time since he was from the area (sort of).
