This weekend I did my 71st Mayberry event since May when I was the keynote speaker at a Wisconsin Lions Club District Convention at Wausau, Wisconsin. To say I was treated great would be an understatement. The reception I received and the way we were treated the entire time exemplified the true spirit of Mayberry. We were able to socialize with everyone for several hours before the banquet and it was evident that The Andy Griffith Show was indeed a favorite topic for everyone. I did my "What's Your Hurry" presentation and closed with a "Tribute to our Veterans". The banquet hall quickly changed from jollification and laughter to total silence and tears as I brought my talk to an end paying tribute to all our veterans. If the ovation I received at the end was any indication as to how people in Wisconsin feel about Mayberry, well the only thing I can say is "Everything is AOK in Mayberry."
