Good question, Ken. I too can remember when the camera was brought out only for
special occasions, and you had to always be aware of how many shots you had
left on the tool. Of course when Ken was a kid, his folks probably had the kind
of camera with a bird inside that chiseled the picture into a slab of stone
with his beak, like on The Flintstones.

Just as I was about to hit SEND, today's digest arrived, so no doubt by the
time you read this sone of mine will have been named already.

Anyway, here is a list that I've come up with so far, of the times we either
saw someone taking a picture or having their picture taken. Most are from the
color years.

Goober takes two of Keevy Hazelton in the hotel lobby

Helen takes several at the baseball game when Andy is umpiring

Aunt Bee takes one of Andy and Opie holding a newspaper in front of Cesar
Romero's house. This gag is a repeat of a story Barney once told about Gary
Cooper's house.

Barney accidentally photographs himself when setting up a "spy" camera in the
filling station (Captain Marvel wouldn't have thought of that!)

Joe Layton, supposedly from Intercontinental News, takes Andy's picture with
"special FBI agent" Jenkins (but you know as well as I do that special agents
of the FBI don't allow their pictures to be took).

Andy takes one of Aunt Bee's prize rose

A reporter takes some of Howard after he catches Old Sam

The hundred-percent Otis Campbell is photographed when he accepts the award for
being descended from Nathan Tibbs. Mayor Pike was photographed earlier in that
same scene, with Mrs. Wickes and Mrs. Bixby.

When Teena Andrews comes to Mayberry there are two guys with cameras waiting
for her to get off the train. Later, two guys (probably the same two) take
pictures when she arrives at the movie theater.

Aunt Bee, Clara, and Myrtle take lots of photos during their trip to Mexico,
however I don't know if we actually see them taking any so maybe this doesn't
count. They do spend time looking at the finished prints at the end of the
episode.
